Up in the air ... or not

I received the following e-mail from Albany International Airport at 8:48 a.m. today:

Albany International Airport is open and operating.
All departing flights are canceled until at least 2:45 p.m.

Roughly the equivalent of saying "Schools are open, but none of the teachers will be in today."
