Poll positions

The HOATOs - people with a Hatred For All Things Obama - are positively giddy that the president's job approval rating has fallen below 50 percent in the latest Gallup Poll.

These are the same people, mind you, who always shouted "Polls don't matter!" as George W. Bush's approval rating plunged to an embarrassing 23 percent.

Also worth noting is that three presidents since World War II fell below the 50 percent threshold in the Gallup Poll earlier in their first term than Obama: Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, and - wait for it now - Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Due to the fact Mr. Obama is only in the first year of his presidency to compare Bush'a last term poll numbers to Mr.Obama's are disingenuous. Let us procede with the first year comparisons. In December of this year, Mr. Obama stands at 46% approval. At this time Mr. Clinton was at 53% and George W. Bush was at 86% (Perhaps you recall 9/11). It wouldn't be fair to compare Gerald Ford as he wasn't elected and came to power as a result of Mr. Nixons resignation. Mr. ford's number was low due to pardoning Nixon and the fact he was a republican. Mr. Obama therefore does have the lowest approval rating of any other president at this point in their tenure.
I am also getting quite tired of calling those who disagree with the policies of Mr. Obama as Obama "HATERS and "RACISTS". The term "RACIST" now is nothing more than a cheap ploy of those in support of Mr. Obama's policies to discredit their opposition and paint them in a negative light. An example of this would be Ms.Janeane Garafolo and her characterization of the tea party movement as rednecks and racists. She is about as informed as Alfred E Newman (no offense to Mr.Newman).The supporters of Obama's policies are the first to call names and attempt to discredit those with differing opinions. The Obama supporters are also more prone to violence or the threat of violence as seen by the attack by SEIU members on a tea party protester and the presence of Black Panthers with clubs at a polling place during the 2008 presdential elections. What has Mr. Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder done to investigate the Black Panthers and what charges have been filed against those SEIU members who attacked the tea party protester. Well the Black Panther investigation was dropped and the assault by SEIU was considered trespass and not an assault as the videotape of the attack clearly showa. So much for justice. had one of the tea party members attacked a SEIU member they would have been imprisoned for sure.
So welcome to the world of transparency and Obama's promise of inclusion. As Obama himself stated "SHUT UP AND GET OUT OF THE WAY". So much for inclusion. The acts perpetrated by tha Black Panthers and SEIU are those of the "COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS" as Mr. Obama called himself and which was his only claim to fame. Under his tenure GM is now government and union controlled. Obama owes more to the unions than any one and is doing all he can to pay them back for their support. He now through healthcare reform is looking to control another one sixth of the national economy. The government in esence may under health care reform determine what and who will receive care. If you are a productive member of society in their estimation you may receive care. If they consider you a ad risk or need an experimental procedure forget it. How can the government add 35 million more members to the rolls and not increase the number of doctors.
By decreasing medicare payments there will be fewer doctors accepting medicare patients and if you mandate doctors treat them they may just retire. This will necessitate rationing. Add Mr. Obama's push for Cap And Trade and more jobs go away. welcome to the Gulag.

How said is it that it took the deaths of nearly 3,000 Americans to prop up GW Bush's approval rating?
And if we agree that it was his RESPONSE to the attacks that made him so popular, how then do you explain the 23% approval rating after nearly eight years of his "war on terror"? The reality is that people rally around a president in times of crisis, but once the smoke clears (literally, in this case), they go back to judging him on his merits - or lack thereof.
