Pictures not fit for a queen

I can't believe I'm writing about this again, but it's too good to ignore.
Miss New Jersey, Amy Polumbo, has made public the photos with which someone apparently has been trying to blackmail her into giving up her crown. (See my previous post on this subject, two items down.)
The photos, according to an Associated Press story this morning, show Polumbo's boyfriend pretending to bite one of her breasts through her shirt; Polumbo in the back of a limousine, fully dressed, with her legs in the air and spread; and Polumbo in a Halloween costume holding two small pumpkins up to her chest.
Offensive? Not to me. But the public and the New Jersey pageant committee may feel differently.
The kicker, though, is this: The person or persons who sent the photos to the Garden State beauty queen and threatened to use them against her got them from -- wait for it now -- Polumbo's own "Facebook" page on the Web.
Here's a tip for you, Amy: If you don't want embarrassing photos to come back and bite you on the butt (or, in this case, the breast), DON'T POST THEM ON THE FREAKIN' INTERNET!

Good work on the tabloid stuff. How about something we can use on your website. Like this from POJO news.com

Yes, this is the POUGHKEEPSIE daily paper.

Scooped again. Happens in your own back yard. All over town by lunchtime and you have nothing.

Abe:
I notice you failed to post any further comments when the Freeman, just a bit later in the day, became the only local media outlet to have comprehensive coverage of this story on the Web and was the only local media outlet with the security camera video posted for all to see. When all was said and done, dailyfreeman.com was the place to go for a complete and accurate account of the altercation.
Separately, I seem to recall you posting a comment on my blog in mid-May saying you weren't going to bother posting any more comments. Gee, THAT didn't last. But I'll say again what I've said before: All comments -- and all criticisms -- are welcome, and I read them all.
Thanks for reading my blog, and the Freeman. I trust we'll be hearing more from you.
And by the way, don't you think it's time to come out from the shadows and identify yourself? What do you have to hide?

The video was on the web first so don't be taking credit for that. Your paper is the hometown paper, not the journal, not the record. It is your responsibility to cover this news. Besides it is right up your alley, scandalous gossip. On top of all of that, now you want kudos for doing your goddamn job?

If I didn't comment on your sad ass Blog, only your sister and your ex classmates would. You should glad someone does.

further, if I failed to post, it was because I made my point. The Freeman was scooped by several other sites. You are right though, the Freeman was the place to go .... 8 hours later after you heard all about it and saw the video on youtube.

As for remaining anonymous, I have no reason to publish my name and nothing to hide. What's the big deal?
What difference does it make? It is still a comment and you said "All comments -- and all criticisms -- are welcome, and I read them all." right?
If you want to start talking about "shadows", how about you start checking the names of some of the letters you publish in the paper each day? I would guess 50% of the political letters are from fictitious names. They look good though don't they! You do not check them, I know that because I have sent them in. So save your "identify yourself" crap until you do it across the board pal.

Abe:
The YouTube video was OURS.
WE posted it.
The version linked on the Record's site and on midhudsonnews' site was OURS.
The Freeman was the ONLY media outlet to post the video.
The YouTube account on which the video is posted, Ethylic, is the private account of one our editors.
I don't mind your comments, and I don't even mind your insults, but I DO mind when you spout off without having your facts straight.
Someday, perhaps, you'll get over your anger and see things for what they are.

If that is in fact true, I apologize for that part of my comment, but the rest stands. How one is suppose to know that a user name that bears no connection to the Freeman is in fact the Freeman I don't know, but Ill apologize anyway. Feel better now?

The Freeman still has the worst web presence of any daily within in radius of say...well, of any daily that I can think of. That will be the downfall of a once proud publication.

Hey Jeremy:

How about deleting the first spam comment?

You've gotta be vigilant about them or they'll proliferate.

As for honest abe, I'm glad you're choosing not to delete him. Sometimes a person's own words are the best refutation of their point.

Abe: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. I think that's Twain.

Here's one I don't know the citation for: Everyone brings joy by walking through a door. Some by entering ...
